This course features highlights of the ISCA Conference 2025 held on 12 November 2025.


Synopsis:

As sustainability reporting becomes increasingly critical to business strategy and stakeholder trust, accountants are emerging as pivotal drivers in the sustainability agenda.

The segment will highlight key insights on how finance professionals are engaging with sustainability initiatives, the challenges they face—particularly in terms of skills and knowledge gaps—and the growing expectations placed on them in this new landscape.

Importantly, the segment will also examine how finance professionals can be better supported in this transition. From capability-building programmes to cross-sector collaborations, participants will explore concrete ways to close the skill gap and empower the profession to lead with confidence and credibility in sustainability reporting and decision-making.

Cherine is a Partner and Head of Our Impact Plan at KPMG in Singapore. She has more than 15 years of consulting experience in ESG measurement, reporting and assurance, ESG deals, structuring, and financing, and decarbonisation pathways.Her expertise extends to the technology, science and business fields, in which she has advised organisations on developing and implementing sustainability strategies, managing compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating climate change strategies.Cherine actively participates in industry dialogues and regularly provides in-depth insights and analysis on issues critical to sustainable development, including decarbonisation, reporting, sustainable finance and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Jeraine Ng

CA (Singapore), Finance Director, GenZero

Jeraine is the Finance Director in the Corporate Services Group at GenZero, where she plays instrumental role in stewarding GenZero’s financial resources.  Before GenZero, she was Finance Director at InfraCo Asia, an international infrastructure development and investment company, where she set up and led the finance team, working closely with international stakeholders and business partners. She started off as an auditor in KPMG Singapore and London, working largely with banking/financial institution and infrastructure clients. She also spent a number of years working at a UK bank and Fortune 500 energy company. Jeraine graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Accountancy and is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).
