Synopsis:
This course is a collaboration between the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers Singapore (IVAS), the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).
Global intangible assets (IA) experienced more than a 10-fold increase in value over the past 25 years. In a time where investors are increasingly calling for better measurement of modern value creation, it is now more important than ever for companies to understand and communicate the strategic roles and values of their IA portfolio.
The Intangibles Disclosure Framework (IDF) outlines principles for enterprises to disclose and communicate their IA such as brand value, patents, or registered designs in a systematic and comprehensive way.
An initiative of the Singapore Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy 2030, the IDF supports the disclosure of consistent information about a company’s IA, so that stakeholders can make more informed assessments of an enterprise’s business and financial prospects.
By the end of this course, you will have a good understanding of the IDF and be aware of how it should be applied effectively.
