Synopsis:

Have you been approached to prepare a forensic accounting report for court proceedings or to serve as an expert witness in court? 

An expert is a person with scientific, technical or other specialised knowledge based on training, study or experience. Experts provide independent opinions on specific issues and assist the court on matters within their expertise. Accountants are typically considered experts as they possess specialised knowledge on financial accounting, amongst others, and may sometimes be called upon to assist the court on specific issues. 

This e-learning course is designed to help accountants prepare for court proceedings and understand how to create an expert forensic accounting report. You'll learn how to produce an expert report when approached by litigating parties or appointed by the court. By understanding the role and necessary preparation, you will gain the confidence to act as an expert witness when needed.

Chuan Ri is a Senior Associate of Wee Swee Teow LLP, a 113-year-old Singapore law firm. As a Singapore-qualified lawyer, he is both an Advocate and a Solicitor. Chuan Ri specialises in international commercial arbitration and litigation, with a sectoral focus in areas of oil and gas, renewable energy and commodities. He also has experience across other practice areas, including criminal defence, family and matrimonial disputes, and personal injury claims.Clients have described Chuan Ri as one who provides “exceptional legal advice”, “a sense of confidence and reassurance during challenging times”, and one who is “efficient”, “very knowledgeable”, “patient”, and a “great lawyer” who is “very helpful”. Chuan Ri is also a Singapore Mediation Centre-accredited mediator and a mediator with the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE).
