Ray graduated from NUS Economics in 2008. While in NUS, he also studied History and Business and became very interested in knowing how the world works through politics and wealth.
Prior to joining Providend, he was the general manager of his family business which was in the retail and consumer goods sector for over 11 years. During his time there, he successfully established a B2B distribution channel and expanded the company to move beyond the traditional brick and mortar model to include ecommerce. However, the lack of a sense of purpose in the work drove him to reconsider the future of his career path. He started looking for a role where his values are better aligned with and would still be able to apply his knowledge to add value to others.
While researching for a better way to plan the finances for his own family, he learnt about Providend and felt very inspired by the work that they do. Shortly after, he made the decision to join Providend’s associate adviser program in 2021 where he first trained under experienced client advisers to learn the ropes.
As a Client Adviser now, Ray has been working with clients to help them be more intentional towards the choices they can make towards their life goals.
