Course Description

Synopsis:

AI is transforming the way organisations operate, but to fully unlock its potential, finance professionals must first develop a clear understanding of what AI is (and isn’t). In the public sector, where trust, accountability, and impact matter deeply, it's especially important to separate hype from reality before adopting new technologies.

In this session, Mr Lem Chin Kok, Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore and Chief Executive Officer of AiRTS, will guide participants through the essential foundations of AI, from debunking common myths to understanding the key differences between predictive AI and generative AI (GenAI), and knowing the strengths and limitations of each model to enable better and smarter decisions.

The second part of the session will focus on how to leverage AI strategically, not just as a tactical tool, but as a long-term enabler for transformation in public finance and operations.

Highlights include:

  • A closer look at GenAI Twin® – and how it compares to RPA, chatbots, and AI agents
  • Practical ways public sector agencies can tap into GovTech’s Tender 24014 and platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft
  • Clips and relevant sector-specific use cases to illustrate how AI is already driving impact in finance and operations
