Synopsis:

IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements was issued by the International Accounting Standards Board in April 2024. It was adopted by the Accounting Standards Committee of Singapore on 4 October 2024 as SFRS(I) 18 and FRS 118. The effective date for application of IFRS 18 for a reporting entity is its annual reporting period beginning on or after 1 January 2027. Earlier application is permitted. IFRS 18 replaces IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements. The new requirements of IFRS 18 have the most significant impact on the Statement of Profit or Loss. It also brings into its purview, the disclosures on management-defined or alternative performance measures. This module explains the impact of IFRS 18 on the presentation and disclosures of the Statement of Profit or Loss and disclosures of management-defined performance measures.
